Rita Vetere
Sorry, folks, can't tell you much about myself as I am in the witness protection program, living under an assumed name since I single-handedly put away a New Jersey crime syndicate while researching a novel. Sadly, I can no longer go by (nor can I reveal) the name I made famous while capturing my three Pulitzer Prizes …
Hmmm … well, that's my imaginary life and I guess you've picked up by now that I'm a big 'Sopranos' fan. My reality is a bit different and infinitely more ordinary. I live in the Greater Toronto area, along with my husband, Frank, our daughter, Jackie and Scruffy the dog, although I've also lived in Italy and Florida.
As a kid growing up in Toronto, I spent Sunday afternoons at the local movie theatre, mesmerized by such horror classics as "The Birds", "Night of the Living Dead" and "The Hand". Maybe that's why to this day I'm intrigued by things supernatural, mysterious or horrific. Okay, maybe "intrigued" isn't the right word; "obsessed" might be more like it-ask anyone who knows me. I also love Italian food, Motown music, hot summer days on the lake and a sizzling good book. And when I can have all of those things at the same time, I'm in heaven. I discovered my next love when I sat down to write my first novel, Ancient Inheritance, and haven't looked back … although I do tend to glance over my shoulder quite often in my other life ...
